Tourist Route: Discovering the Hauts-de-Seine

Step 2: La Seine Musicale

Situated on Île Seguin, La Seine Musicale brings together concert halls, an auditorium, and waterfront promenades. Its spectacular architecture, varied musical seasons, and open forecourt make it both a major venue for live performance and a new cultural landmark on the Seine.

30-minute tour, free admission

This cultural space, a flagship of the Hauts-de-Seine department, is above all a vibrant community hub that blends indoor and outdoor spaces. La Seine Musicale reinforces the cultural and tourist appeal of the Hauts-de-Seine department. From the Paris-La Défense business district and its contemporary art trail to the French-style gardens of the Domaine départemental de Sceaux, the entire heritage of the Hauts-de-Seine department shines even brighter.

Extraordinary architecture

Architects Jean de Gastines and Shigeru Ban are the creative minds behind this new cultural facility. Together, they successfully met a major architectural challenge. With an elongated silhouette reminiscent of a cruise ship and curves that perfectly hug the tip of Île Seguin, La Seine Musicale plays with the reflections of the water.

‍An auditorium with 1,150 seats primarily dedicated to classical music, a hall with over 4,000 seats for musicals, live performances, and other major concerts, a landscaped garden spanning 7,200m², cultural shops, restaurants, and cafés… It has it all!

Discover La Seine Musicale through one of the scavenger hunts on the Paris Region Aventures app, specially designed for families and available as a free download.
