Between active workshops, historical collections, and contemporary creations, the site tells the story of the continuity of high-level artistic craftsmanship.

1-hour tour, free admission

On the edge of the Domaine national de Saint-Cloud in the western suburbs of Paris, the town of Sèvres is home to the rich collections of the Ceramics Museum, created in the early 19th century by the scientist Alexandre Brongniart, and the incredible historic Sèvres Manufacture. Founded during the reign of Louis XV, it was renowned throughout Europe for the incomparable quality of its porcelain. Since January 2025, Sèvres and the Mobilier national have joined forces to form a new public entity dedicated to decorative arts and fine crafts: Les Manufactures nationales – Sèvres & Mobilier national.

A collection of 55,000 pieces testifying to exceptional craftsmanship

Located at the gates of Paris, the museum exhibits an exceptional collection of 55,000 pieces from the Middle Ages to the present day, sourced from all over the world. On the ground floor, East and West mingle to reveal the richness of ceramics from their origins to the 16th century.

On the 1st floor, pride of place is given to magnificent collections of European earthenware and porcelain. Contemporary creators are also featured with a varied program of temporary exhibitions.

Behind the scenes, Sèvres - Manufacture et Musée nationaux lets you discover the secrets of the famous Sèvres blue in its production workshops for Sèvres porcelain. You can also learn ceramic techniques through painting and modeling workshops. Enthusiasts can opt for a guided tour that reveals the secrets of this ancestral art.
