About
The La Rochelle-Ré-Aunis Hospital Group is a leading public healthcare facility in the northern part of Charente-Maritime. It brings together several sites and offers a comprehensive range of services in medicine, surgery, obstetrics, psychiatry, geriatrics, and medico-social care, with a strong commitment to innovation, prevention, and support for vulnerable populations.
In the La Rochelle area and its surrounding suburbs, the bus is an essential mode of transport for the elderly and patients undergoing mental health treatment or rehabilitation. However, it can become a major obstacle for those suffering from anxiety disorders, social phobia, or a loss of autonomy.
Supporting patients
For many elderly people or those struggling with anxiety disorders or social phobia, taking the bus can be a source of intense stress. These barriers limit their ability to travel independently. They make medical appointments, administrative tasks, or social activities more complex and can sometimes contribute to isolation. The La Rochelle-Ré-Aunis Hospital Group aims to provide these individuals with concrete support, integrated into their care pathway, to help make their travel experience more secure.
Aladdin, the tailored solution for a seamless journey
In this context, the ALADDIN project takes the form of a mobile application designed to support people who have lost autonomy due to anxiety disorders, social phobia, or old age, as they travel by public transport to the hospital group.
Profile customization
The application allows for programming based on two profiles: anxiety disorders or elderly person. Reassurance messages are adapted according to the selected profile.
Mobility assistant
Creation of routes on the La Rochelle transport network; journey tracking; reassurance during trips—audio reassurance messages sent throughout the journey by hospital staff based on the frequency chosen by the therapist; buttons available at any time during the trip to trigger an audio clip of a reassuring phrase or a relaxation exercise.
Therapeutic tool
The therapist has access to a trip history screen that includes: information on the completed journey for patient route analysis, and a voice comment left by the user.
