The question driving us today is how to ensure everyone has the same opportunities in a city as dense, dynamic, and vibrant as Paris, regardless of their physical, psychological, or mental starting point in life.
From July 8 to 17, 2023, Paris hosted the 11th edition of the World Para Athletics Championships at Stade Charléty. 330 Paralympic athletes and over 100,000 spectators gathered for this event, held just over a year before the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Meeting the challenge of an inclusive sporting event
Every year, the City of Paris hosts and organizes major international sporting events that draw hundreds of thousands of visitors. It is therefore working to improve the experience for people with disabilities to ensure their travel is as easy as possible. In this context, the City of Paris set out to make PARIS’ 23 a landmark edition, with high standards for hospitality, general organization, and sports, while providing an inclusive spectator experience one year out from the 2024 Games.
